The Saint Ignatius High School Wildcats demonstrated impressive skill with contributions up and down the lineup at the Solon Comet Classic Wrestling Tournament on December 22, 2025, securing a sixth-place finish out of 23 teams with a total of 117 team points.
Leading the Wildcats' effort,
Stefan Drabiak placed 3rd in the 113-pound weight class with back-to-back victories following a tough loss in the semifinals. His dominance in all four of his wins showcased his determination and skill. In the 215-pound weight class,
Caine Glover took 4th place, adding crucial points to the team's tally.
Brycen Swiger, competing at 132 pounds, claimed the 5th position, as did
Talen Blogna at 150 pounds and
Luke Spinos at 285 pounds.
Rocco Roche rounded out the Wildcat medalists by taking 6th at 106 pounds.
The Wildcats' overall performance was highlighted by the team's depth and ability to compete across various weight classes. Senior Captain
Talen Blogna reflected on the tournament, saying, "We tried real hard and had a lot of fun." Assistant Coach
Doug Hayes was optimistic about the early-season form, emphasizing the valuable insights gained from the competition that will guide future improvements and strengthen the team's performance throughout the season.
