The History of the Saint Ignatius Broadcasting Network

SIBN

The Saint Ignatius Broadcasting Network is a student organization at Saint Ignatius High School. The SIBN broadcasts football, basketball, soccer, hockey, lacrosse, baseball, rugby, and other Wildcats sporting events. The SIBN also broadcasts all-school Masses and other school events. The SIBN also has broadcasted bowling and golf.

The SIBN is the single largest student-operated high school sports broadcasting outlet in the state.  This year, the SIBN will cover nearly 100 Saint Ignatius events, including seven different sports events and other on-campus events. The club has announced multiple Saint Ignatius State Championships since 2009.

Since Brendan Gulick '09 founded the SIBN in 2007, the group has broadcasted over 1,000 Saint Ignatius athletic events.

Membership in the SIBN has grown exponentially over the years. The SIBN now has over 70 student members. In addition to broadcasting live on air, students also handle the camerawork, assist with social media, write game recaps, take stats, and more. Whatever your interest, the SIBN has a spot for you!

In 2023, Cleveland.com awarded the SIBN the Best Media Mind in Northeast Ohio for its efforts throughout the season assisting the Sports Information Department at Saint Ignatius. Many SIBN students pursue collegiate degrees in sports after they graduate.
