On May 8, 2025, Tom Parker '10 was named the Head Basketball Coach at Saint Ignatius High School, becoming the 25th head coach in program history.
Parker began his coaching career in 2017, leading the freshman teams for the Wildcats. When Cam Joyce was hired in the Spring of 2019, Parker was appointed as the JV Head Basketball Coach and a varsity assistant coach. From 2019 to 2022, Parker led the JV squad to a 54-7 record, including an undefeated season in 2021-22, the first in the program's modern era. On the varsity end during those years, Parker was a part of the 2021 and 2022 Regional Champion Wildcats.
After success at the JV level, Parker would be appointed Head Basketball Coach at Euclid High School. Parker would return to Saint Ignatius High School for the 2023-24 season as the Director of Player Development for coach Joyce's staff. The Wildcats would go on to win the OHSAA State Championship, the first in 23 years for the program.Â
In the 2024-25 season, the Wildcats would win their fourth Regional Championship in five seasons, before falling in the State Semifinal.Â
While as a student-athlete at Saint Ignatius High School, Parker was a three-year letter winner for the basketball program. His varsity coaches include Brian Becker '77 and Sean O'Toole '87. After a successful three-year varsity career for the Wildcats that included a District Title and the program's Defensive Player of the Year, Parker would play collegiately for Lake Erie College in Painesville, Ohio. Parker graduated from Lake Erie College in 2014 with a degree in business and communication.
Parker enters the 2025-26 season with ten years of coaching experience, and the basketball season is set to begin in November, where Parker will debut for the Wildcats. Parker will serve as an assistant athletic director within the school, he will assist with athletic administration and admissions outreach for Saint Ignatius High School
