Alex Stiegele represented the Saint Ignatius Golf Cats at the OHSAA Tournament held at NCR Country Club in Dayton on Monday and Tuesday.
The junior had a strong performance, scoring 79 on the first day and improving to 77 on the second day for a total of 156. His consistent play earned him a 23rd-place finish at the State Tournament, showcasing his skill and determination on a competitive stage. Stiegele was able to overcome the elements of 43-degree weather.
The golf season officially comes to a close for the Wildcats. The season saw a young group take second place at the Sectional Tournament with a team score of 295. That would go on to place sixth at the District Meet at Pine Hills.
Hoban would come away with the State Championship title with a team total of 595.
