CLEVELAND, OH - The Saint Ignatius Swim and Diving team is riding a wave of success after a stellar performance at the Sectionals Championship held on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Cleveland State University. The team emerged victorious with multiple first-place finishes, including all three relay events. Their achievements have set the stage for the upcoming District meet at Bowling Green State University.
The team had an exceptional showing in the relay events, dominating the competition and setting a new meet record in the 200-yard Medley Relay. The team, consisting of Jaime Hong, Jude Banks, Connor Fitzgerald, and Thor Johannessen, set a new record with a time of 1:33.87, breaking the program's own previous record from 2017. This remarkable achievement is a testament to their dedication and teamwork.

A total of 18 swimmers are advancing to the District Championship at Cooper Pool on the campus of Bowling Green State University (BGSU) on Saturday, February 15, at 4:30 p.m. The Cats look to defend their crown; they won the District Championship in 2024.
