BROOKLYN, OH - The Saint Ignatius Wildcats ushered in their Freshman Football season with a decisive victory over the Avon Eagles on August 23. The game at Brooklyn Memorial Stadium saw the Wildcats outmaneuver the Eagles with a strong final score of 31-12 under a warm, overcast afternoon sky.
The game started with Avon scoring early, leading to a halftime score where the Wildcats trailed slightly at 10-6. However, the Wildcats made a significant comeback in the second half. Tyler McMillon was a standout player, scoring two touchdowns, while Quarterback Anthony Abruzzo and Jack Buckley added one. Notably, the Wildcats' defense was robust, turning the game in their favor with critical plays throughout the afternoon.
