The Alley Cats Finish Strong at D1 Bowling Tournament

The Wildcats compete in their first tournament of 2025-26, competing against Ohio's best programs.

The Saint Ignatius Wildcats showcased their skills at the Division I High School State Invitational 'Kick-Off' Tournament held at HP Lanes in Columbus on Saturday, November 22. Competing against the top 28 high school bowling programs in Ohio, the Wildcats, led by standout performances from Colin Robinson and Mason Melgaard, secured an 11th-place finish.

During the tournament, Robinson and Melgaard both recorded impressive five-Baggers, contributing significantly to the team's performance. Robinson also earned recognition for the highest series score of 656 and the highest single-game score of 237. Melgaard wasn't far behind with a noteworthy game score of 236. Another standout performance came from Ayden Stanicki, who contributed a 202 in a crucial game. Notably, Robinson scored a turkey, adding to his list of achievements during the event.

The Wildcats qualified in seventh place to advance to the Championship round. Despite not winning the tournament, which was taken by Gahanna Lincoln, the Wildcats' strong showings have set a positive tone for the season. They look forward to their upcoming challenge next weekend against Padua and at the Panther Challenge in Norton.
