ELYRIA, OH - The Saint Ignatius Varsity Blue and Gold golf teams shined Saturday at the Elyria Country Club Invitational. The Blue squad claimed a first-place finish in the 13-team field, firing a record-tying team score of 278 on the par-72 layout — matching the program's best 18-hole performance first set in 2022 by Julian Dugan, Connor Malicki, Nick Piesen, and Michael O'Leary.
St. Charles was a close runner-up at 279, while the Varsity Gold Cats secured third place with a solid 299.
Junior Fitch Farina led the charge for the Blue Cats, carding a blistering 66 to share medalist honors and match the Wildcat all-time low score for a par-72 course. Farina joins an elite group of record-holders, including Connor Malicki, Topher Reed, and Dan Rush.
